With very little notice, we have all been forced to react to the most significant crisis of our times. At The Harvest Center of Charlotte(THCC) our first, and continuing response, is to pray and seek God for His healing for those who are sick, peace for those who are anxious and grace for us all, to bear one another’s burdens.
We remain committed to breaking cycles of situational homelessness for families and individuals, especially during this COVID-19. Thanks to our staff, volunteers and donors, our campus is equipped to meet immediate as well as longer-term needs of our staff and participants. From the first governmental closure, we have remained vigilant to maintain operations in the most responsible way.
We are providing hot meals several days each week to the 45 individuals living on our campus as well providing access to technology for job search for those who lost jobs and schoolwork for our students. We are coming together to supply personal supplies, cleaning and disinfecting product to provide for a safe virus free environment. And we are making plans to take in more homeless individuals into our transitional housing program, over the next 30 days.
Our history of serving individuals impacted by homeless, poverty and unemployment has taught us that in times of crisis, people need hope, more than anything. With your continued support, we will maintain these essential services for these children and their families who need our full support to empower them through the end of this challenging time.
Thank God for sending friends like you who love their neighbors as much as they love themselves.
