Home is a word that can mean many different things to many different people. Still, no matter who you ask, the word “home” usually brings with it feelings of safety, stability, rest, and love. Everyone deserves to have a home, both physically and spiritually, and that is the foundation on which we built the Harvest Center.
True to its name, The Harvest Center was developed to be the center of transformation for the situationally homeless. Many homeless individuals want to regain their independence, but don’t believe it is possible. That is why The Harvest Center is also a center for healing. Homelessness is more than just not having a house, and the causes of it are often much more complicated and deep-rooted than financial hardship. To address all of the factors that lead someone to fall into homelessness and prevent them from escaping it, The Harvest Center developed The CLT Passport Program, a Christ-centered program that focuses on building people up in the Eight Dimensions of Wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Financial, Intellectual, Occupational, Physical, Social, and Spiritual.
The Harvest Center is so much more than a resource center or a collection of temporary living facilities. The Harvest Center is, above all, a community of Christ-followers who believe in a brighter world full of possibilities for everyone. It is a place that helps the situationally homeless at every step in their journey - the center for support, renewal, and peace.
