The Need

50% of homeless individuals are school aged children

45% of Charlotteans have difficulty paying for housing

Homeless students are likely to perform below grade level in math and reading and have twice as many absences from school than non-homeless students.

Domestic Violence is the number one cause of homelessness for women with children in Charlotte.

The Cause

Homelessness is a community problem that requires collaborative solutions. The Harvest Center of Charlotte provides a transitional housing program which empowers men, women and children to break the cycle of homeless in our city. Our vision is to see 2,000 lives transformed to permanent affordable housing, sustainable jobs and careers and a connection to a spiritual community.
