When Tracey arrived at The Harvest Center, she was angry at her circumstances and at herself. It wasn’t her first time starting over, and she asked a question so many in her position have quietly asked: “God, how many times do I have to begin again?”
But here, something shifted.
At The Harvest Center, our team saw beyond her anger. We saw beyond the shame she carried. We saw the woman underneath; a woman who simply needed room to breathe and someone to believe in her again.
More than a bed, we offered Tracey space: the space to rest, to cry, to reflect, to rebuild. She found that homelessness wasn’t her identity, it was a season. And like all seasons, it would change.
Rebuilding wasn’t immediate or easy. Some days it meant nothing more than getting out of bed. Other days it meant confronting painful truths, embracing humility, and daring to hope again. But step by step, Tracey began to reclaim her life.
Before graduating from the program, Tracey earned a promotion at her job, an opportunity that allowed her to pay off more than $10,000 of debt. With her finances stabilized, she moved into permanent housing with renewed confidence and hope.
After graduating, Tracey received yet another promotion. Today, her business is thriving, her family life is flourishing, and she continues to walk boldly in purpose and possibility. What was once a season of survival has become a season of growth, joy, and generational impact.
Tracey is a reminder that homelessness is not an identity, it is a season. And seasons change.
