As I wrap up my final phase at The Harvest Center, I’ve been thinking a lot about how far I’ve come. When I first got here, I thought being sober and going to groups were just things I had to do. I didn’t understand why. Now I do.

Sobriety means being the father my daughter needs and showing up for life with purpose. The groups, like Jobs for Life and Trauma Reboot, have taught me how to heal and grow. But more than anything, THCC has helped me grow spiritually. Through Transformational Encounters, case management, and just being surrounded by people who care, I’ve learned how to lean on God like never before. I read my Bible. I pray. I
share what I’m learning. That’s been the biggest gift.

Life is moving forward in a big way. A few weeks ago, I stepped into a supervisor role at Atrium Health, I’m starting a GED program, I’ve been sober for two and a half years, and my daughter, Yaya, is thriving. In addition, I’m in counseling, meeting weekly with my sponsor and peer support, and I graduated from the CLT Passport Program last week.

If you’ve ever supported THCC in any way, thank you. You’ve helped make this possible. I’m grateful beyond words.
