The Harvest Center of Charlotte
Responding to the Big Beautiful Bill with Faith, Action, Love and Hope

In the wake of the Big Beautiful Bill’s passage, our community faces a new wave of challenges that disproportionately affect the very individuals The Harvest Center of Charlotte was created to serve. With deep cuts to SNAP and Medicaid, families across Charlotte are bracing for reduced access to food, healthcare, and essential support. These changes will not only strain household budgets, but they will also test the strength of our local safety nets.

At The Harvest Center, we are already seeing the ripple effects. More neighbors are calling and walking through our doors seeking emergency assistance, transitional housing, and pathways to stability. Many are mothers, fathers, and young adults who have lost access to basic resources but have not lost hope. And that hope is what we continue to nurture through our holistic programs that address issues of situational homelessness, traumas and poverty.

We recognize that federal policy shifts demand local action. That’s why we are expanding our outreach, deepening our partnerships, and calling on our community to stand with us. The Brookhill Campus Initiative remains a beacon of transformation, and the Charlotte Passport Program continues to empower individuals toward self-sufficiency. But we cannot do this alone.

Now more than ever, we need our city’s leaders, donors, and neighbors to rally behind the mission. Together, we can ensure that no one is left behind, not in the face of policy, poverty, or uncertainty. The Harvest Center of Charlotte is not just responding to change we are leading with compassion, resilience, and faith.

We invite you to join us. Because when one of us rises, we all rise.
