Our Story
A Safe Space to Heal and Grow
The Harvest Center believes every person deserves a space of safety, stability, rest, and love. Everyone deserves to have a home, and we believe no person or life should be ignored.
Founded in 1980, The Harvest Center was originally a soup kitchen. Since our start, we have moved our location three times and evolved our work to focus on the residential and transformation solutions that we provide today. Throughout this history, our values have not changed.
In 2018, we shifted our focus to providing more comprehensive services for long-term impact. Over the years, we’ve grown and expanded through multiple facilities to impact more families and individuals. As we’ve grown, the mission of The Harvest Center has expanded to focus on our CLT Passport program, supporting homeless individuals gain financial independence and life skills to thrive in the future.
The Harvest Center exists to serve the non-chronic homeless populations, who want to regain independence. We exist to provide hope, support, and practical steps to help homeless individuals regain independence and take control of their life.
Meet the Staff
Our participants are supported by an incredibly talented and dedicated team who work diligently to see our participants grow, heal, and prosper as they overcome issues of trauma, abuse, and lack of opportunity.
Motivated By Love
At the Harvest Center, we’re also deeply committed to sharing the love of Christ with every single one of our neighbors in the Charlotte community. God’s love drives everything we do and it is that love that motivates us to serve our neighbors.
Our programs are biblically-based and designed to support motivated individuals through a transformational journey of hope and dignity. While we are Christ-centered, we serve and respect participants of all faiths and beliefs.
Restoring Dignity to Homeless Individuals & Families
A Heart for the Charlotte Community
We’ve always had a heart for those facing homelessness and have supported these populations since 1980. However, over the years we discovered a greater opportunity.
And, that’s how we got to where we are today!
We have resources to help individuals and families not just survive, but thrive, regain independence, and restore dignity in all aspects of their lives.
This has led to a comprehensive program that not only addresses immediate physical needs, but also addresses ways to overcome trauma, learn life skills, heal, and grow. It’s a holistic approach, woven together with accountability and a grace-filled atmosphere.
