When De’Asia and her one-year-old son came to the Harvest Center, she was employed full time but her childcare and living arrangements were temporary. She needed a stable environment for her and her son and permanent childcare. De’Asia was struggling with trauma from her childhood and other disappointments that life had thrown at her. Her greatest desire was to break the generational curse and make better choices for herself and her son. De’Asia aspired to go back to college so she can earn a degree in healthcare but her lack of family support and struggle to heal emotionally was hindering her determination.
The Harvest Center took hold of De’Asia’s hand and walked with her every step of the way as she received the counseling she needed, to help heal the little girl inside. We provided her with spiritual guidance and support during Spiritual Night to keep her encouraged. De’Asia attended our Jobs for Life Program and now she’s working in the field she wants her career in. She has taken great strides during her time in the CLT Passport Program and after. De’Asia is working her way up the ladder at her job, budgeting money better and saving. She says, Thanks to The Harvest Center of Charlotte, she is more confidence now, healing effectively, focusing on the purpose God has for her and being the best mom, she can be to her son.
