Before finding The Harvest Center of Charlotte (THCC), | was overwhelmed by hopelessness. As a father trying to navigate life with my child, the options seemed limited, and my faith in God was faltering. I had faced numerous setbacks that left me feeling as though I had no viable path forward. In my search for hope, I came across THCC through an online search, and it felt like a beacon in my darkest hour.
What sets THCC apart is their focus on supporting men with children-an underserved and often overlooked group. Many programs primarily focus on single moms or single individuals, leaving fathers like me with few options for comprehensive support. When I discovered THCC, I was relieved to find a program specifically designed to help fathers who are determined to improve their lives for the sake of their children.
I decided to apply, though I wasn’t sure if I would be accepted, given my history of disappointments. However, I chose to trust in God’s plan, believing that if this opportunity was meant for me, it would come to fruition. The day of my interview marked a pivotal moment. From the moment I entered THCC, I was met with an outpouring of love and acceptance from the staff. Their genuine care and support made it clear that this was a place where I could find real help and healing.
Thanks to the incredible support from THCC, my child and I have experienced profound transformation. The services and resources provided have not only transformed my life but have also been a lifeline for my child. The environment at THCC promotes both individual and family growth, helping us to rebuild and thrive. We now feel a sense of security and belonging that we had been missing, and my child is growing spiritually as well. The community here has become an extended family for us, enriching our lives in ways we had only dreamed of.
Seeing other participants graduate in June was a particularly inspiring moment. Their achievements ignite a sport of determination within me, reinforcing my belief that with the right support, I too could achieve my goals.
